Ah, blogging. Narcisism perfected.
So, like almost everyone else in this city, I've recently moved to the big D C. Is anyone else lonely here? Seems like everyone is so busy, being busy. i found this site that i'm a little shamed to admit about, meetup.com , and so i've been joining "meetups" where a bunch of lonely folks get together in an attempt to feel less lonely. why is it then that after most meetups i feel oddly *more* lonely?
i think it's because the idea of meeting strangers who you hope will become your friends is so forced. it's like a singles group, only you're not there to hook up, but seriously people, how can you become real friends with someone who you know is as desperately lonely as you are?
what's up with the digitiness of life lately? a few cases in point:
- i found my roomate on craigslist. so did everyone else i've met so far in dc.
- i'm finding my new "friends" on meetup.com
- my brother makes fun of me for my personal cell/work cell/pda/ipod on the go, all on my pants from express
- i can check email on my workcell/pda and do, every five minutes or so.
i'll be right back after i check my email on my workcell/pda
ah, that's better.
so, meetup anyone?
